Ben is now eight and half pounds and I can walk for a long time (as long as it is slow and flat). We have had many a long walks in the BOB this week. Apparently summer in Vancouver has arrived (for now). We are looking forward to Courtney and Alec coming for a visit next week as well as Rachel's return to Vancouver. And rumor has it the Buddies Toys rowing team made it to the finals!

A few weeks ago Julianne came for a visit from Edmonton and Laura B came on her way to Savary Island.
Today I'm going to break in Kits pool while Ben plays with Rochelle. For those unfamiliar with Kits pool, here is an shot of the 137 M salt water pool:

For those of you that have known me a while - at pretty much any stage of my post-16 year old life you may be sad (or glad) to know we said goodbye to the trusty civic of 15 years yesterday. I tried to peel the Glendale High School parking sticker off the rear view mirror but for some reason it just started to disintegrate. I'll let the new owner deal with that one. We managed to salvage the bike racks from my triathlon team days and the UCSB athletics sticker remained intact as we waved goodbye.

All that to say, for those of you who come to this blog solely to see photos of Ben, he had this own opinions of our decision.

He was a dream baby the ENTIRE day yesterday as we drove all over the lower mainland trying to find a car to "trade" for my civic. He slept quietly, awoke at a convenient time to feed etc. We found a car just before closing on Sunday evening.

Au pair extraordinaire

Our friend Audrey, aside from being super cool and the one who sent us the first season of our new favorite show - Friday Night Lights - just sent us some pretty sweet baby gifts: the monkey and the extra small Chuck Taylors.

More adventures in the BOB! Last week we took Ben and the BOB to new levels. On Thursday I rode the bus across town with Ben in the BOB. We also did the sky train with the BOB (and Ben) on Friday night. Note to self: skytrain elevators are gross. Tomorrow Ben and I (sans BOB) are heading to Deep Cove to have lunch with my friend Polly. My creative juices were sucked away by four hours of fussing today and about four hours of sleep last night. Here are a few unrelated pictures - including Uncle Al's visit!
