Ben's beatbox dance

Phew, we got our blog back from Rocky & Arny. We just slid by considering we were hoping for positive Rocky comments! A special treat for your patience:

Music brought to you by James P. & Dan Ray. Laughter and encouragement by Andrea, Julie and Rochelle. Ben's wardrobe brought to you (in bamboo!) by Aunt Carol. Rousing game of "misses" going on in the background by Dane & Titus.

Sunshine and Rainbows

Well, we've got two comments in the first 24 hours, sans baby.

Let's see if we can get that number to 5 before tomorrow (Sunday) at noon.

If you can reach that number folks, it might unlock the baby picture vault we have crowding our camera.

Are you willing to take the "comment" hits? Go for it!

Rocky II - the story continues...

fishing for a comment, without the help of the baby

are all up to the challenge?

Arny v. Sly

Sly wins. Enough said.

Filling out the carseat

I know we keep writing this (or at least saying it) but we have an official baby on our hands. No more preemie. Mr. Shum would be so proud. Ben is 9 1/2 pounds now (probably more) and busting out of his "NB" clothes and into 0-3 months. He is full of laughs and "talking." Grandma Chris had so much fun she tried to take him to LA in her suitcase to visit Jules. We wouldn't have it. He is staying here with us. Camp Good Times is in the midst of a major purge and cleaning. It is what I wanted to do before Ben was born, but I was a bit tied up (well down). (Julie: note cargo pants fit now!)

Aunt Laura Braden's pirate gift - it is a pacifier clip - (aren't you jealous Carol?)
Note: chin 'chub'

Ben weighs 9 1/2 lbs now. He is almost on the chart for his age, if he was a girl.
Currently, Ben enjoys sleeping in the BOB, crying, peeing and eating. He sometimes enjoys pooping, smiling and lying on our bed. He does not enjoy being hungry (even though I explain to him that he will be fed in about 20 seconds), not being able to fall asleep when tired, and the sun in his eyes. More on his hobbies next time. Oh and sorry, I can't find the latest laundry basket picture. Grandma Chris is coming to town on Weds and we are going to get rid of a lot of stuff we don't need and do a much needed Spring cleaning (although I think Vancouver is going from winter to summer). If you have seen anything in our apartment that you want, just ask, it could be going bye-bye real soon.

costume: part deux

cheap costume?

As Ben gets a bit bigger and things are harder to get over his head, we end up stopping midway through and taking photos like this. If we ever need a Halloween costume we can dress him like this and you all can guess what he is. An ewok? Yoda? a red sheep? I couldn't resist putting this picture up. I'll down load the new ones today because Dane is home today. A whole new perspective on life having Dane home on a Thursday. He is done teaching for the year (HIS FIRST YEAR OF TEACHING IS DONE!!! WOOT WOOT!). But he has to work most days in June doing other things at the school.

Two new promotions-a-la Jane: We returned to Crave to celebrate Dane's last day of teaching and I continue to love this place. They have an amazing but simple menu and everything we have had has been delicious. Ben managed to wake up and cry a bit (my fave in a small restaurant) but he was just hungry. Who isn't hungry after eating every hour on the hour for 3 hours? I am looking forward to trying their breakfast menu next. Attention Joey's dinner club - we need to go here.

Second promotion: An outdoor pool I went to with Jessica yesterday. We had our own lanes, it was easy to get to and their is free parking. I can't tell you where it is though because we want to keep it empty.

Triple Crown

For those of you still reading this blog (ie looking for new pics of Ben) here are a few gems. I have a feeling all our viewers share our blood line (or walked to school with my mum in grade 7). These were some of my favorites and would have been the picture on our thank you cards but our camera is so "old" the pictures don't print very well. On that note, the thank you cards will COME. In the mean time, thank you all for all the clothes, books, toys etc. We are wearing (and out growing) them all!
We had our first major road trip (to Kelowna) and our first wedding with Ben this weekend. He did awesome. He slept in the car and through almost all of the reception. He wasn't even the smallest baby at the wedding.
Dane finishes teaching this week but has to work most of June. Rachel is away for the month but we make sure to show Ben the pink room so he doesn't forget who lives there. We had a nice time with Courtney and Alec who were visiting from the sticks of Montana. They are having a baby in August. Coming soon: more laundry basket pictures and Ben's new pirate toy (aren't you all jealous).
